Our Mission, Vision & Core Values

Our Mission

We are a faith-based organization whose mission is to engage people in urban leadership that results in the economic, educational and spiritual transformation of our community.

Our Vision

That Fresno Is Known For:
Strong congregations and nonprofits working together
Every child reading and succeeding
Revitalized urban core
Volunteers mobilized from every sector
Entrepreneurial and philanthropic culture

What We Do...

We connect people who often never cross paths, from every background and boardroom; neighborhood residents, pastors, police chiefs, business owners, city and county employees, mayors and council members, school superintendents and teachers, hospital administrators and health workers, youth leaders, inner-city activists, mom, dads.  All kinds.

You might call us talent scouts because we find diverse, determined people, bring them to the table together, make sure they are equipped, and then watch them hammer out uncommon solutions that serve the common good.  The new pulse restoring life to the heart of our city is found in the will of people to leave personal agendas behind and cross all the barriers of culture, geography, and sector to realistically face and deal with urban disconnection.

It works because we value each other equally, just like another famous leader did 2000 years ago.  And it works because rather than starting with problems and deficits, we build on people and their human assets.

The results here in our city?  A boarded-up house renovated for homeownership; a new neighborhood association organizing building projects, safe patrols, and leading its own urban redesign process; a church offering a house across from an inner-city school for after-school programs; adult mentors supporting kids in choosing family and education over gangs and crime.

Our Values:

  1. Respect for All People
  2. Diversity as a Strength
  3. Equipping and Learning
  4. Strengths-Based Approach
  5. Servant Leadership
  6. The Local Church
  7. Our City and Community

Our Method:

Connecting diverse transformed leaders who engage in
  Collaborative civic renewal to
  Create community and health,
  One by One.  (more detail)
